Cab Rides
A diversionary route from Brighton to London Blackfriars on a Class 700 of Thameslink.
About this production
This journey on a Class 700 from Thameslink is diverted through south London between East Croydon and London Blackfriars because of engineering work.
We follow the Brighton mainline north as normal for the start of the journey, before branching north though Selhurst, Streatham Common, Tulse Hill, Herne Hill and Elephant & Castle to our destination on a bridge over the River Thames.
An on-screen menu gives a choice between listening to the impeccably researched commentary which explains the history of the line and the sights along the way, or concentrating on the sounds of the class 700.
Graphics provide a constantly updated indication of speed limits and temporary speed restrictions, signal aspects, and the names of the stations we pass by and stop at.
