eagle's eye - cumbrian coast
Fly around the Cumbrian Coast from Grange-over-Sands on Morecambe Bay in the south to the Solway Estuary in the north. Along the way we discover some little known sights, like the southern tip of Cumbria on Walney Island.
This programme visits places such as Ulverston, Barrow-in-Furness, Whitehaven and Workington, and exposes those difficult to reach spots from the sands of Morecambe Bay to the Ravenglass Estuary.
Discover the history of Cartmel Priory, Muncaster Castle and the Sellafield nuclear site, and the sole remaining iron ore mine in Cumbria, Florence Mine.
We find out about the link between Whitehaven and a US President, and between the iron and steel works at Workington and Kirkland, near Seattle in the State of Washington.
